15th February 2024

Birmingham Women’s Hospital is the latest Hospital network to go “Cloud” with its upgrade of Blood360.

At the core of the Blood360.cloud installation is the powerful MSoft360 Cloud environment sitting on top of the industry leading AWS Cloud worldwide infrastructure.

Blood360.cloud is providing Birmingham Women’s Hospital with 2 x Blood360 T1 Kiosks controlling their fridges & agitators.

Blood360 provides positive patient identification at the point of collection of Blood Products helping to eliminate a number of SHOT reported incidents. The system fully supports the “Right Patient, Right Blood” mantra.

Matt McAlister, Managing Director of MSoft360 said, “We are very proud to add Birmingham Women’s Hospital to our growing list of Blood360.cloud customers enjoying the benefits of a fully managed cloud service from my team.”

About Birmingham Women’s Hospital.

Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust are proud to bring together the expertise of Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Birmingham Women’s Hospital.

The Trust is the first of its type in the UK, formed in February 2017 to drive forward their commitment to providing the highest quality, world-class care that women, children and families want, and deserve.

Uniting the hospitals means more seamless care; more investment to make greater advances in specialist treatment and world-leading neo-natal and fetal work. Importantly, it also gives a greater voice in shaping the future of family-centred care.

With more than 641,000 visits from patients each year, they are a busy Trust and pride themselves on the commitment of the 6,000 strong team, which works tirelessly to provide the very best treatment and support to women, children and families.

SHOT (Serious Hazards of Transfusion) is a reporting portal which anonymises reported incidents for learning purposes. It produces an annual report of those incidents with recommendations for improvement. Blood360 uses these recommendations to improve its software.
